Cursor Austin Grok Hackathon

A one-day Austin hackathon where solo entrants or teams of up to four build agents, tools, or automations using Cursor and Grok across three competition tracks for cash prizes.

Sat, Aug 15, 9:00 AMFinancial District, Austin, TX

Why it matters

Cash-prize hackathons pairing a specific coding agent with a specific model concentrate a large sample of fresh agent-building experiments and prompts in a single day, useful for spotting emerging patterns.

The tokenmaxxing angle

The Agents track explicitly asks teams to build something that can reason, plan, and take action, a direct test of how far a fixed day of Cursor plus Grok usage stretches for real agentic builds.

From the organizers

The published schedule runs building from 10 AM to 3 PM with judging from 3 to 4 PM, and first place pays $1,500 per team member; the event is organized by Hunter Carver and Jake O'Shea with 62 registered.
