MCP V2 RELEASE EVENT

SF release party for the MCP 2.0 spec: a stateless protocol core, a new Extensions framework, MCP Apps, Tasks, and hardened auth, with talks and demos on what changes as it ships.

Tue, Jul 28, 5:30 PMYerba Buena, San Francisco, CA

Why it matters

MCP is becoming the default wire protocol between agents, tools, and data. A major spec revision changes how every agent builder authenticates, scales, and wires up context for tool calls.

The tokenmaxxing angle

The stateless core changes how MCP servers scale under load (no sticky sessions), which affects per-request infra cost; Extensions and Tasks change how much context and how many round-trips a tool call needs.

From the organizers

Description states the MCP 2026-07-28 spec ships with a stateless core, an Extensions framework, MCP Apps, and Tasks; hosted by Manufact (YC S25), which is also releasing mcp-use v2 that night.
